At some point people have to realise, that it is our capacity as a club to do things right that’s the issue which is completely on the board. The DoFs and managers we have, are given ‘Hobson’s choice’ when it comes to playing personnel either becuse of the interference or the financial resource available. Do you honestly think that if someone said to Dyche ‘Who are your top 20 full backs?’, he would pick Young?

No I don’t think he would…..it’s like going to a buffet, where for everybody else there are 50 options, but for our manager there are 5. This is where we are because of absolutely fooking it up, and on the back of it our major sponsor is financially tied and we have a new stadium to pay for.

It shows absolute lacking of scouting ability or knowledge, there are probably 1000s of LBs all over the world that is better than what we got and we go for a guy looking for his last pay cheque and can`t accept it is time to hang his boots up....

Whatever fee Villa would of asked for him, he and his agent have had it instead I’d imagine. This is not a ”cheap” deal, it’s probably every last penny of what we received from Chelsea for ISS and he has absolutely zero sell on value. It’s ALL cost.

Villa fans really rated what Young did for them last year. They are proper fans not prawn sandwich munchers, Surrey investment bankers on a lads day out or Bangalore selfie stick wielders. We might want to put a bit more weight on their views. Young has barely missed a game in seven years and had the reputation of being the fittest player at United when he was there. Obviously he is a stop gap but there is an above negligible chance he improves us, just like he improved Villa.
