I was speaking to a guy working on the stadium a couple months ago and he said they're scheduled to finish in June 2024, and he also said he's worked for the company on many projects and they always complete their work weeks ahead of schedule.

That might be true but they need to do a number of test events etc. after it's built.

The Stadium Development Company is a 100% owned by the football club. Moshiri ‘owns’ it for as long as he owns the majority stake in Everton but not if he sells up, unless a restructure is part of the deal but no new buyer would logically want that.

Very good contacts at Citibank in NYC who work with MSP on various stuff suggest the deal is rather more complicated than the article above suggests but how much of what they believe to be involved will be made public day one I do not know.

Knowing what we do about even best case costs it is almost certainly wrong to suggest that this first tranche of funding is enough to complete the stadium (there will have to be more at some point) so that bit of the article should be treated as club spin IMO.

It's possible that the 150m MSP 'debt' is covered by a new issue of shares, rather than Moshiri giving them 20-25% of his shareholding.

After all, rather than him take the money out of the club as cash that's what he did just over a year ago. Issued himself additional shares.

He's made some absolutely horrendous decisions but he's a million times the Evertonian than Bill Kenwright who'd undoubtedly sell his own mother to cling onto some kind of power.

Everton have got some more “good news” as they now have the resources to complete their “spectacular” new stadium development, according to Kieran Maguire.

The football finance expert from the University of Liverpool believes MSP Sports Capital will have paid up to £150million to boost cash-flow, on the way to eventually ending up with as much as a quarter of the club.
