2022/23 Abdoulaye Doucouré

Tired legs often results in players making mistakes.

Doucoure was goosed and Dyche should have made a sub even if he doesn't have much faith in his options from the bench.

100%. He wasn't the only one either. There were so many loose passes in the 5-10 minutes before their second. It needed freshening up and Dyche hesitated.

….I imagine he’s one of the first names on the team sheet. Dyche knows he hasn’t got a forward worthy of the name but is reliant on Doucoure and Onana hitting the box.

Problem with our 3 CMs is that they all struggle in possession (maybe Onana to a lesser degree) but all three have genuine energy. That’s the way it is. Dyche feels it’s more important to have that application in midfield rather than gamble on better quality on the ball.

Doucoure is vital to his cause.

Standards have dropped so far when people are calling that Doucoure performance good. It was absolutely rubbish in any aspect you want to look at apart from his header that he skewed in (fortunately as I don’t know where it would have gone if he’d connected properly)

Gave the ball away countless times, couldn’t find any killer passes, hesitant when in attack, hesitant in 50 50s, and then killed the whole team with his brain dead mistake, and yet because he‘s served up so much crap for years people are thinking that’s good because he ran around a bit.
