That’s the whole point of DOF, a strategy in place for what type of players we need, and the next manager that come in fits the ethos of that strategy. This club thinks DOF is a chief scout and that’s it.

I mean i'm not knocking tofeenut but I don't think we can say for sure that another deal fell through just because one bloke posted one vaguely cryptic message on a forum before rowing back on it the day after. There hasn't been any other suggestion that there was another deal lined up as far as i'm aware. I have no doubt that the current mess isn't helping matters, but I can't have it that he was only coming here to play for Lampard when the world and his wife knew it was a matter of time til he got sacked.
