No spot on. I can't understand how Brighton can bring in players like they have, over a few years, without spending much, get better every year no matter who the manager is. Potter leaving hasn't even made a dint in them Yet we can't find good players even when we have spent money? Going down, I have no doubt. Doesn't matter who we bring in on or off pitch.Of course that is the feeling mate. Hard for it not to be. The disparity between City and tonight can be boiled down to Frank’s god awful tactics, namely needless shape and personnel changes.
There is no way, regardless of how you feel about our players in the current moment, that I’ll believe our first 15/16 shouldn’t be dealing with Bournemouth, Brighton and (this version of) Wolves pretty summarily. Our failings have been tactical and managerial. Arguably, our best spell this season was when all our signings were pretty new and hadn’t suffered Lampard’s influence for too long. Apart from the odd result since that one run, we’ve got progressively worse.
People pointed - before tonight - to a low goals conceded tally and conflated that with being “hard to beat”. You can’t be hard to beat if you don’t score. FL has tried to play pretty football with players not the least bit suitable for it.
We signed the likes of McNeil and Garner, and yet don’t discernibly play for set pieces or put early balls into the box. We signed Maupay and put him up top by himself. It’s been guesswork pretty much from start to finish, and he made it this far purely on the back of a few good results at the end of last season. Turns out, you can’t rely on blue flares and Spirit of the Blues every week.
He will be working his way through his roladex looking for the name of that bloke who nearly scored once against Monaco in a friendly a few years back to get him on a sneaky loan with no manager in place.Bet they can't even get hold of Moshiri tonight to make a decision on Frank
Absolute mess this club.

One of these days we’ll get it right mate. It’ll almost certainly be by fluke than good management, but law of averages says it’ll happen. We just have to hope we’re in this league when it does.
Has to be Poch! Single handledly turned Southampton and Spurs into good football teams with budget/astute signings and strong coaching/man management.Plenty of good managers out there without us having to revert to Martinez or Moyes or give it to an ex player.
Pochettino would be my choice or I’d throw absolutely everything at Mourinho to try and entice him from Roma.
Get to bed Farhad.I'll probably get pelters for this but I think Stevie G. He gets us
That’s what’s got me down right now. This doesn’t have to be a bad thing if we were to make a smart hiring. But our owner and board have so colossally f’d up that we have no money to attract a high profile manager or promised players, and who with any ambition is joining us? There’s a lot of decent managers out there right now, too. So frustrating.Any manager with an ounce of sense or decent reputation avoids us like the plague if this clueless owner and board bullet frank to save themselves. That’s why bielsa, poch, tuchel are out.
It will be dyche, nuno our one of the old friends network like Martinez, moyes or big dunc that these dopes turn to. Christ, they allowed Benitez to get the job ffs.
Utterly depressing choices.
I think the one thing we don't do is put a Red in.I'll probably get pelters for this but I think Stevie G. He gets us
