The advantage we have is the sheer size of the country though. Even if you only have a few pockets where football takes a place along the other sports that will be enough to keep us competitive.

On the rise as well, which is interesting to see. It's basically being reborn, in a way.

Hope the pool gets bigger as the sport/money in it pick up, as you say it's a huge country with many opportunities for it...

No because some teams create enough that they can miss a few. England haven't really so they'll have a much bigger problem.

France have missed many chances this tournament, for example.

I know what you’re saying but the finishing from England hasn’t even been that good, it’s been the quality of chance created.

Portugal this game could’ve scored if Fernandes or Felix had hit one of their efforts a bit better but they’ve not missed any quality chances because they’ve not created any. Englands strength has been making chances this tournament and they’ll definitely create against France who will leave a lot more space than Croatia, Morocco etc.

I could be completely wrong, however I've always had the impression that football (not your faux rugby version) is more popular on the west coast than east.

Yeah I'd go along with that because the Latin American influence has always been stronger there. The East coast is certainly much more into the sport now than it was a decade ago.
