Sort of. I don't think the first yellow was as clear-cut as you think it was, especially in the context of this game.

Watch it back, it was a clear yellow. I’d try and find a clip of it but in that game it comes pretty low down the list

OK, but there were other fouls I felt were clear yellows where the player skated. A player might dodge a second yellow for the second horse collar tackle when daylight is ahead (happened the other day), but never the first.

I'm not agreeing with you. Please understand what I am saying. In the context of this game, that player does not know he is on a card. It's not reckless, and there's no excessive force. It's 100% a foul, sure.

I would card it, but in the context of how this game played out I would have no idea what this ref is doing with that foul.
