I read an article a while ago where it talked about UK officials going to the WC. Oliver and Taylor are going as refs, with a few other officials.

It did mention they’d not be used as a VAR.

Ha yeah. I was 12 at the time and was just excited about the US not sucking but I do remember watching the Spain South Korea match and knowing even then it didn’t seem quite right. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Qatar was doing more shady stuff behind the scenes. Just hope it doesn’t work if they are

1-0 penalty, dodgy handball from a corner or something - nailed on for Qatar.
