We all want Lampard to do well but it doesn't mean he's beyond criticism

Some of our approaches to games this season have been really poor

We leak chances - an abundance of last ditch blocks from our defence and Pickford being in superb form have been our saviour

We look toothless in attack and have become a bit one dimensional in our tactic of just giving it to our fast wingers and hoping for the best

The performance against Crystal Palace is what we need to be replicating against Leicester, we played about 10 yards higher up the pitch and were so much harder to defend against because of players picking up effective positions

Haha carry on dreaming, he will be gone before the end of the season and rightly so. He isn't improving us. Our better defence is down to 2 players Thelwell signed and not anything FL has coaches.
We are appalling going forward, away from home we play for a point at best. Only positive has been Iwobi and that was luck
I will guarantee you he will be still in charge come May, you posting here maybe not so much

Not all problems get sorted at once.

Our home form has picked up. Away is still problematic, we can all see, but we still need a Richarlison replacement.

Some big issues have been sorted, but glaring problems up front remain.

Getting a tight defence is always the first building block of a successful team. We now have that.

I really hope Lampard succeeds with us.

For me, he has a squad that he is probably 60% happy with.

Defence looks solid, Midfield still has work to do and our forward line is pretty poor.

For me he is still learning on the job as he is relatively new to management. Hopefully we sort our scoring problem out in January.

my biggest criticism of Lampard so far is not selling Gordon in the Summer but that may not have been his decision.

Didn't he come out and basically say he wanted Gordon to stay? Regardless, we absolutely should have cashed in completely. Gordon is a decent player but the money Chelsea supposedly were offering was for "world class" potential and I just don't see it with him. Absolutely daft move from whomever blocked it.

I don't think you're wrong about this. But we're a top 30 club in the world at worst so this should not be a situation we're in.

Not exactly a high hit rate is it?
RBL (almost every manager), Bayern (almost every manager recently except 1), BVB (almost every manager), a lot of teams in Germany really, Barcelona (Xavi, Pep, and if you wanna go back further - Rijkard) , Milan (Gattuso, Seedorf, Inzaghi), Napoli (Gattuso again), Inter (the better manager Inzaghi), Ajax through all of their history. Off the top of my head.

I don't think we're on the same page if you thought BVB was appropriate to include

Good game this. Villa and Chelsea won the European Cup with stand in managers, RS won a double with a manager in his first job. Rangers had Souness as a player/manager.
