Just watched the highlights of a couple of weekend games.
ManUre v Barcodes: how the barcodes did not get a penalty in the first half is beyond belief. ManUre player nowhere near the ball and took out the Barcode player!
The Cristiano Ronaldo 'goal'. That's a tough one, as it is nor clear whether the Barcodes player played the ball back to the 'keeper for the 'keeper to take the free kick, or whether the Barcodes player actually took the free kick, playing it back to the 'keeper. What can be said is that the ref kept his arm in the air signifying an indirect free kick the whole time, and as soon as Ronaldo played the ball he blew his whistle. I read that as the ref deeming the free kick had not been taken.
Soton v West Ham: Soton goal should have been disallowed - Soton player taking the throw-in had one foot on the pitch. Made worse by the fact that the linesman was about 5 yards away LOOKING at him as he took the throw-in. No wonder the West Ham players were annoyed...
Anyone else got any thoughts on the above two incidents?
