Am I the only person that think when they come up against a decent well-organised team they'll simply get smashed like Brazil vs. Germany? They've chanced their luck so many times this season
who united? Their not in europe and they've already played chelsea/city who are the best teams in the league and conceded once in both games.

I don't think so. Sure we were poor today but a lot of that had to do with the change to 3-5-2. Van Gaal is getting results at the moment though, that's the main thing.

GET IN THERE! Up to 3rd, played like poo though.

Over 40 different injuries and 3rd in the league, 5 wins in a row - bouncing.

Off to play some PES 2015 with a grin on my face.
Looking nailed on for at least third. Playing like poo (as you said) but winning. Bit like two seasons ago when you won it. I don't think United will head off Chelsea or City but Van Gaal has proven himself to be a manager of the highest pedigree, so you never know.

We won't get near the top 2, mate. I'd take 4th now but we might even sneak a 3rd place finish.

@Jim Lahey

what is going on at united? From an outside perspective the tactics arent effective, players are injured in defense and you seem to have just went out and signed a load of attacking players more than you need. You arent playing vintage football, you arent really beating teams bar the odd one or two and even got a slice of luck to beat us (cross/shot).

Yet it seems to be working?! You cant argue against results and although you don't look as convincing as under ferguson, you are starting to up a gear and 3rd in the league is nothing short of impressive considering how you started. Keep going and back in the big league at the first attempt which would be great for the manager.

Take a look at the Man Utd thread mate, I posted my thoughts this morning.

We've had a bit of luck, a goal keeper in incredible form and we're taking our chances in front of goal this season.

Plus Van Gaal HAS made improvements on and off the field. The injuries are just incredibly bad luck. LVG has changed the training methods, has sacked one of the coaches and got in his own bloke yet they're still happening.

Van Gaal will also change something if it's not working, he won't wait all game to do it either. For example, yesterday he could see that McNair was having a poor game and subbed him off at 30 minutes. Moyes last season could see that Cleverley was having an AWFUL first half against Stoke I think it was but he kept him on.

He has an aura about him, he doesn't take any s**t and the players know they are on borrowed time unless they buck up their ideas.

He still wants to bring in more players in HIS style though. I can't see Evans, Young, Fletcher and co being at Old Trafford next season. He'll get rid of the sick notes.

Van Gaal teams are notoriously slow starters which is why I didn't panic when we had our poor start to the season. A huge cliche but Rome wasn't built in a day and this certainly applies to building a competent football team.

We're heading in the right direction. Lots of chatter about Strootman coming in the summer and Hummels at centre back, plus a new right back as Rafael needs cover because of his injury record.

Need to keep hold of De Gea though. He hasn't signed a new contract yet, it's making me nervous.

Myth, they were just as poor under fergie in the year they won the league.

Ideal situation -
They lose tonight and fume, then Man U turn them over and we'll beat QPR comfortably.

What will actually happen -
They'll scrape through tonight, get a draw at Old Trafford and QPR will beat us 1-0.

90 odd points poor? That is a lot of wins!
I watched them a number of times that year, and they'd regularly pick up three points, but the entire time I kept thinking, how? RVP and Ferguson's sheer force of will carried them to the title that last season.
