2023/24 Sean Dyche

Dyche's is on record saying that Burnley wasn't a fashionable club and they had to get academy rejects, failed and broken players. Then if a deal was right bring in some flair.

Moyes was swimming in a different pool.
If he is saying that then, why given the time he was there did he not look at a club like Bilbao. They can only sign Basque players, so players from Sociedad and a few much lower league clubs, which means they hardly have any transfer budget but have decent money for wages and everything they do is focused on producing their own players and improving their academy. Why in all those years did he never try and setup a proper youth system that could have really benefitted him and Burnley as a club in the long run.

My mistake - 6 years £68mill net. Then take into consideration the club - Burnley. Kompany fir example brought in "footballers" because he's Vincent Kompany and his connections in the Belgian league. And again, why change a style when it's working and you've not funds to make a big improvement?

Dyche on record has said he and Thelwell work together. He's also said he's there to improve youth - recently rolling off how he feels he's improved/improved the younger lads like Garner, Myko, brought Dobbin in, actually played Chermitti when he looks "ready" etc. So to say he doesn't "want" I don't see the evidence of that.

And just because he wants big hardened players, doesn't mean he wouldn't want them playing football. Jose made a career out of the same mentality. And "on board with the plan" means listening to instructions doesn't it? Danjuma barely played for Spurs too which says more about his ability and attitude than anything.

Fullbacks...again he likes them to defend, but it's not like he won't want them to attack. Look at Myko start of the season. His stats still show for shots and crosses he's up there with the best in the league attack wise. And if you look now..."flying" fullbacks looks to be going out the window for more introverted fullbacks that end up in midfield.

The whole point really is...until he's had funds to actually make improvements, you can't say he'll never change
You’re massively deluded if you think he’s changing. We will see what happens. And comparing him to Jose ffs

Comparing Moyes and Everton, to Dyche and Burnley?

The difference in clubs and circumstances makes the comparison a bit useless.

Their fans hold Dyche in higher esteem than ours do Moyes.

That says it all.
You’re totally missing the point. It’s nothing to do with clubs and money, look what potter did at Brighton after Chris houghton, what the palalce mananger has done in 8 weeks.

It’s about a manger having a plan on how to improve and make the team better and more consistent. By improving players year on year. Resulting in his last 8 seasons being in the top 8. And the biggest club in tbe world wanting him.

The other got 7th then 10th and then started to fall and he couldn’t stop it, maybe other manager knew what Burnley where going to do and the manager just cracked on with plan A. Ultimately he got sacked after 4 wins in 30 games and sat on his hands without out of a job for 12 months.

Going off the list of left backs this season for the top clubs....hes more shots than Robertson, more crosses than Gvardiol,

More shots and crosses that Kiwior, more shots and goals than Digne....

More crosses than Gvardiol because City don’t really cross the ball - and he’s not a great left back anyway IMO.

He’s poor going forward so probably suits Dyche as he has tucked in, defensive full backs.

You're tying yourself up in knots here pal.

You're on about changing a "style". Iraola spent £100mill net to implement his style. Dyche £37mill.

Dyche is 3 points behind him. When Dyche had £100mill to do whatever he wants to do then the question of what style of football he'd play will be answered.
It’s called basic maths mate
Dyche started this season with a 200mil squad, before buying Beto and Chermiti. Iraloa didbt have a squad that expensive. Also he’s improved their style of play and he’s done it inside a season, he got beat at Everton 3-0 in October, think he lost his first 6 games, incredible what’s he’s done in that time

Dyche is playing the same way he was when he got the job and for 10yrs at Burnley. And it will be same next season. Toss of a coin football, let see if we can score first of a set peice then we may have a chance today. He had 40mil why wound another 60 make a huge difference

Potter turned them around, playing entertaining football. Some people still like that.

Did he yeah?

His first two seasons he took them from 17th to 15th and 16th.

He benefitted from a well run club, with minimum expectation and after 3 years he had them 9th an 51 points. Wow. If we won our next 2 games, we finish on 51 points in terms of points won on the pitch.

Why did he fail at Chelsea?

Do you watch football or just look at the results?

Ask yourself why he got the Chelsea job and Dyche never will.

What Potter did at Brighton?

Dyche has a bigger point uplift so far.

Got headhunted by Chelsea, so must have been going something right. Like I keep saying nobody was interested in dyche even when he got Burnley 7th. 10 yrs and not one top club or a club with ambition interested in dyche ball, I wonder why
