Just got in and saw this.

The tenderness and love he showed for his wife will always stay with me, as will the amount of times he banned me too.

A truly sad loss.

He had some body count like. We must have proper done his head in.

That news has just made my blood run cold. Devastated for all his nearest and dearest.

Life does not play fair sometimes and he deserved more. I'm not a great believer in much but I hope he has been reunited with his wife up there.

News like this puts a great perspective on things.

Just hearing this puts all my thoughts about the state of Everton and football right in the bin, though I'm sure I'll be back to ranting at some point.

@roydo was an ever present and great influence on this site right from when I joined years ago. I'll miss his presence, his contribution and the wisdom he brought to GrandOldTeam.

Sincerest condolences to his family and friends at this terrible time.
