b ) have supported him since day one and pledge not, whatever happens early in his Everton career, to call for his head (which is more than many of Martinez's detractors were willing to do).
c) have stated he was not backed by the board this summer

If that's the 'obvious' level of opposition he faces then he's extremely fortunate I'd say.
