Its only a matter of time before you all hate Barkley

I do think were gonna hate Ross, but for some reason not Rodwell, Roddrs has a certain class abot him that i dont believe Barkley, or Rooney for that matter have

Given what some have said on the various Rooney threads it seems absolutely that barring billiionaire investment, the same lids will eventually hate Barkley

Eventually he will get in the team on a regular basis. he will be boss and the bigger richer clubs will come sniffing. He will be offered CL football and huge wages and like any other human being would do, he too, will go. And when he does the same lids who STILL hate Rooney, will hate him too.

Its a weird place they are in right now. As we speak, they love Ross, want him in and see him as a saviour, but they know that eventually they will hate him too!!

You just don't get it.

It's not leaving per se, it's HOW the player leaves.

As long as Barkley doesn't - say nothing all summer whilst speculation rages, then just before the season starts, tells the manager he's not in the right frame of mind to play for the first team. Then hands in a transfer request 3 days before the window closes to force through a deal, allowing no time for any of his fee to be spent. Then after moving, repeatedly kisses his new club's badge - on occasions after scoring against Everton, and instead of being a pro, taunts the fans by cupping his ear, etc. Also, subsequently writes lies about his former manager in a book, which he later admits are lies and settles out of court. Oh yeah, and expresses no gratitude to his former club for several years, for all the time they spent developing and nurturing him.

As long as Barkley does none of that, he should be just fine.

Look how Arteta left. There might be the odd one or two who have issues with him, but when we played Arsenal away earlier this season, his name was applauded by travelling blues when it was read out by the announcer before the game. He'll also be applauded when he returns to Goodison soon.

There are 'proper' ways of leaving Everton that ensure you aren't booed. Most of us don't boo or 'hate' someone for no reason.

Steven Pienarr never done any of the above but got abused on facebook and twitter, he never got to play against Everton and now he's back the majority have welcomed him back but there's still some who say on here and twitter " he's got a lot to do too win me over"

Arteta is not really a fair example because he was playing very poor for the last 18 months, add to that we got a major transfer fee compared to his performances of recent seasons, dont fool yourself mate any player who's of good age and is playing out of their skin at the time will get stick off a big percentage of fans regardless how they go because Football is a very very fickle game and fans don't see it as a job, Jeffers was another one who got hell but then got accepted when he came back on loan, top and bottom of it is, if your wearing Royal blue of Everton you'll be supported if you leave regardless of why in the main you'll get stick, it's just depending on how good a player you are as too what level of stick you'll take IMO
