Mason Springthorpe's apparently out of contract now. Saw him a few times for the U21s, didn't seem altogether awful. Can understand him feeling pushed out when we signed Stanek though.

Any clearer idea why he's off?

He was already playing second fiddle to Mateusz Taudul for the U/21's I'm pretty sure.

As you said we signed Stanek and I believe Russell Griffiths will be to old for the U/18's next season, the club must have felt he wasn't gonna make it and we didn't need any more keepers at that level so they let him go.
