Very true, but this may favour Simms in some ways, “ all he has to do” is concentrate on being a better striker. He’s powerful, we know he can finish , has improved his hold up play but is way behind DCL with his aerial stuff and work rate, so lots of specifics he can concentrate on.
I'm guessing he isn't fit either and the manager has decided that if it's a choice between an unfit experienced player and an unfit inexperienced player he'll go with the former instead of the latter

Agreed , but a run out for 10 minutes for Iwobi or Rondon he would have done far better he needs to get match fit, so why put him on the bench?

If he's not match fit pop him on the bench tonight for u21s against Carlisle give him the last 20 minutes. We don't play against MU until Saturday 20 minutes tonight will do him no harm but might make him an option for another 20-30 on Saturday.

Yeah he's eligible as he is under 21 and there are 5 places for over age players anyways. You are right start with him see how far he goes. These are actually a level below where he was playing last year so he might be the difference between us winning. He's a goal scorer so if he nicks one will do his confidence the world of good.

Probably could turn out to be only only disagreement of Benitez so far. Seen enough of rondon to feel united will have a comfortable game. Could really bring a feel good factor if he'd play this lad and he atleast produces a performance. Heckmifnhe scored we would all be buzzing.
