Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has revealed there were never any names in the infamous envelopes he presented to players in the Being: Liverpool television series.

Rodgers told his squad during a pre-season meeting last year he had written down three names of players who would let the club down during the course of a season.

He put one name in each envelope and hinted he would reveal the names of the three at the end of the campaign.

However, speaking for the first time about the incident, Rodgers says there were never any names written down.

‘There were no names,’ Rodgers told ESPN.

It’s thought the idea was a simple stunt at making sure all players performed to their maximum, in order to prove the manager wrong.

The idea was previously known to be something used by Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

SHOWS HE HAD HOPE IN EVERY SINGLE PLAYER. HE'S SO INSPIRATIONAL. YWAN
