Key to our good solid start to the game today. Best thing he did was make sure he was available for McNeil or Myko when they were in a tight spot on the line, then just popped it to Gana or to JB. Always made sure he was making a triangle with the 2 left side players.

Not our best midfielder today, but didn’t need to be. Had a job and looked like he did it to the letter 👏
 
I'm sure he's better slaughtered again, but not many of 22 year olds dominate a midfield as he did today.
Exactly. Closed off the centre of the pitch, kept it tidy, won it back when he had to. Exactly what we’ve been crying out for from a defensive mid. Some people are still moaning.

Yes he is capable of doing more with the ball and driving past players and popping up in the box. But if you want him doing that when he’s playing the holding role you’re a divvy.

Precisely. Hes finally being played in somewhat his correct position and we look much better for it.
