6 + 2 Point Deductions

Why can't they time the points deductions so that they are given before the season starts along with any appeals? Why did they start by handing them out in November and March with appeals in April/May?
They acted when and how they did as a reaction to threats of oversight. It was a process without a framework and they hurried it.

Everton was chosen because it was a single charge and they believed less people would care than if it were City or Chelsea.

They botched it. Then overcorrected and made it worse. It’s no surprise they are hinting at scrapping the whole thing.

Scrapping the whole thing allows
Man City not be prosecuted. Man City would have been a lot more agressive than us, more money to spend, higher profile. Premier league not up for the fight
Shambolic

An attempt to punish you in the season you commit the crime. Really Luton etc should benefit from Forest being guilty this season, not Leicester/Ipswich, which would happen if the penalty was applied at the start of next season. Half the problem is it takes time to produce the accounts and by that time the next season has started.

But that’s all wrong anyway as our “crimes” we are still trying to unwind were committed 3 or 4 years ago.

All of it is completely illogical, and even ignoring that, badly documented and full of massive holes (e.g. Leicester not providing incriminating accounts to the PL because as of December 23 they weren’t a member of the PL, so they claimed the PL had no jurisdiction over them at that point - even though their overspending all happened when they WERE members of the PL).

Even if there was no corruption, bias, favouritism of the 6, need to fend off a regulator, it STILL wouldn’t work properly.
