6 + 2 Point Deductions

Are they still suggesting we leave the stadium sat empty for 6 months so we can “say a proper goodbye to Goodison 🥹💙” by the way?
indeed can not understand the logic of not going to BMD the moment it is ready. 12.000 potentially more seats to fill x GBP 60 = 700k more revenue on a matchday to start with. I mean it is not solving the financial mess just yet but everything counts

It seems a strange time to announce our £89m loss while a panel are deciding our next points deduction!! Maybe it could of waited until after 8th April
It`s the law in this country, our accounts had to be filed by March 31st of March.

But there is nothing stopping the club from releasing their accounts straight after they have been audited, that negates the need for someone like the Esk to deep dive our accounts and make assumptions on what they may or may not be.

But they won`t.... for whatever they just won`t and it makes no sense at all.

We had a big chance of winning several games in this terrible run, it's only the last two we've been properly off it. Can't see it is bad hyperbole.
You''ll know by next Saturday evening. If we can't beat Burnley the death spiral will escalate as the panic takes hold.

The club statement from 15th Jan now pees me right off. Emboldens the fans disgust of the PL when they’ve just handed in accounts revealing even more searing incompetence. Might say that nothing written is incorrect, but certainly hides the scale of their stupidity from fans. I think complaining about double jeopardy and lack of documented process following the introduction of the fast track timetable for this period would have more weight if the club weren’t running around aimlessly with soiled pants round its ankles.

“Everton Football Club acknowledges the Premier League’s decision to refer a breach of Profit & Sustainability rules (PSR) for the assessment period ending with the 2022/23 season to an independent Premier League commission.

This relates to a period which covers seasons 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23. It therefore includes financial periods (2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22) for which the Club has already received a 10-point sanction. The Club is currently appealing that sanction.

The Premier League does not have guidelines which prevent a club being sanctioned for alleged breaches in financial periods which have already been subject to punishment, unlike other governing bodies, including the EFL. As a result - and because of the Premier League’s new commitment to deal with such matters “in-season” - the Club is in a position where it has had no option but to submit a PSR calculation which remains subject to change, pending the outcome of the appeal.

The Club must now defend another Premier League complaint which includes the very same financial periods for which it has already been sanctioned, before that appeal has even been heard. The Club takes the view that this results from a clear deficiency in the Premier League’s rules.

Everton can assure its fans that it will continue to defend its position during the ongoing appeal and, should it be required to do so, at any future commission - and that the impact on supporters will be reflected as part of that process.”
IMO, reading between the lines I think it says something like....

When the 2023 accounts went in we were still under an appeal process for 2022 accounts
The appeal upheld the breach of £19.5m disregarding all out mitigating factors
So, IMO and logic says if the breach is the same or less than £19.5m then we have already been punished and were compliant in 2023

Does that make sense?

Some are saying the breach is £10m, well we were punished for £19.5m in the previous year so we reduced the PSR breach by £14.5m in 2023.

But it could be we breached by £29.5m and because we have already been punished for £19.5m then the breach punishment we are facing is £10m

Again all guesswork until the docs are released, hopefully this week. Plus how can anyone know what is coming when the outcome of these things is as flimsy as we have seen from previous ICs

It feels really worrying and desperate doesn't it?. Not a day goes by without anything eventful going on at this shambles of a club.
Is more like wtf can we do we have protested against the club and have asked for change. Still this takeover bs is going on and well the club is going nowhere, like when does it come to the point when the league will see it is us fans getting punished. Like how the hell can we even get this club to change is coming to the point the club will have to ask us fans for money before games get the buckets out for donations. Just at a loss for this then we just have to look out for this again next season

You''ll know by next Saturday evening. If we can't beat Burnley the death spiral will escalate as the panic takes hold.
We won't beat Burnley as we don't beat the same team three times in a season which is why we didn't beat Crystal Palace earlier this year in the league but on the plus side we won't lose to Luton as we have already lost to them twice!

I have a question..
Had russia not invaded ukraine and uncle usmanov still been involved, would we have been financially sound or had we already cocked up with our accounting?
