3 year contracts ...change of policy?

The option of the extra year is spot on.

Long contracts are alright as long as we don’t hand them to poor players who are getting PL wages but struggle to play in the Championship.

The clever play is the option of the extra year all of the reward with none of the risk, Utd do this all of the time as a policy.

Really like this change of policy. Leaves an incentive on the table for a player to perform and/or the ability for Everton to cut its losses on those not up to par. Too many senior players in the current squad have underperformed while on cushy contracts and high wages.

I've seen some incredible attempts at spelling Doucoure so far, but reckon this one is the best yet.

Also, it's finally the club showing some smarts.

James has the option of another year, but it's a club option so it's on us to take it up. Will also be activated if he plays a certain number of games.

Allan is 29 too so a 3-year deal makes sense.

Doucoure - 3-year deal but similar to James in that there's an option.

It's protecting the club from having players on big wages hitting 30 and still having 3 years left on their deals (i.e. Sigurdsson)

Just can’t believe Besic is still under contract after all these years. Sandro and Bolasie...it’s all the pe teacher’s faults.

We've had our fingers burnt and learned our lessons the hard way, Bolaise, Sandro and Tosun cost us 21 mill a year.
