Match Thread Arsenal vs. Everton - Sunday 19th May - Preview, Discussion, Match Report & MOTM poll

I hope City beat Spurs midweek, Utd beat the Arse today, so all the relegation places and the title are wrapped up before Sky's last day extravaganza. imagine their fume, Carragher and Neville trying to hype up the race for the europa conference. Anyway, another win on the road...honest.

as you say, opinions. i would be inclined to agree about the reasonable offer, but, after his injury problems, he would only attract low offers, better to keep him for his last year than let him go for peanuts.

Goes to the same barber as me by the looks of him.

Hes better than any replacement we will be able to bring in, the age thing makes it risky, but, if we get 20 games out of him the risk will have been worth it.

    2023/24 Youssef Chermiti

I've said from the first time saw him, there's a player in there, if we look after his development and he keeps his feet on the ground, he will make a good Premier league player.

Calvert Lewin for me, he's starting to look like a proper centre forward again. He's a bully, he's quick and he has very good hold up play. MOTM by a country mile for me. Just as an aside, Chermiti really impressed me when he came on. I'm convinced that there is a very good player in there

Most talented player we've had in the PL era?

Got to be Rooney for me, pity he stayed such a short time.

    Farhad Moshiri

I'm sure he must be smarter than I give him credit for, surely no billionaire can be as thick as Moshiri seems too be.

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

As I've said before in this thread, that's ok if the club's ambition is mid table safety and dour football, it really depends on the ambition of then new owners of they want to build and progress, then they really need to consider Dyche's position. If, on the other hand, they are content with...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

Pretty much what I said, the football is acceptable, just about, whilst he gets points, the thing is if he had money to spend, he would buy quicker stronger versions of the players he has and we would play a quicker version of what we play now. Mid table with kick and run football, as I say, it...

    2023/24 Sean Dyche

You really can't argue with his points tally this season and that keeps him in his job, for now. It all depends on the new owners going forward and what their aspirations are. The football is very difficult to watch and while I see the point of people saying that if he had better players he...

    777 Partners - Revised Poll Added 07/05/2024

Is it a possibility that new owners could let 777 have their equity and then wait for the administrators to inevitably take control of 777 in the near future, at which time the new owners could buy 777s share from the administrators for far less than 200 mill? Or is that too simple, I'm not...

Kind of half agree with you Dave, but, I think the debt level is just as off putting to potential buyers. We live in hope.

    Farhad Moshiri

This Ukraine situation had rumbled for years before coming to a head and Einstein didn't think he needed a contingency plan, happier just to go with his fat mate's dodgy money.

He said he'd fund our stadium too, easily said, but, when push came to shove, he didn't/couldn't.

    Farhad Moshiri

Nah mate, the big problem is that he thought he could build a new stadium on the river, at a cost of nearly a billion and chose to rely on his dodgy fat mate to fund it rather then get a structured finance plan in place, day one. End result of this incompetence, he has several loans at usurious...
