    Transfer Rumour Che Adams

His goalscoring record at Southampton is poor but we haven't had a striker who can play a similar role to DCL in 2 seasons so he does improve us. Just another example of how poor recruitment has been.

    2022/23 Mason Holgate

You can boo a team performance but singling out a player when he's being taken off crosses the line IMO. I get he played poorly but it's no surprise when he isn't playing regularly and has to be dropped in as a make shift full back because the board have failed in having cover.

Expectations for the Coming Season ?

I'm happy with mid table, not being in a relegation battle and not fighting for Conference League. I just want to see a clear style of play and togetherness in the squad with players working hard. There's signs of that at the moment so just want us to keep building.

    2022/23 Conor Coady

Best thing with Coady and Tarkowski is that you know if one of them is out, they can help whoever comes in to cover through the game. Having that leader at the back will be huge if Holgate, Godfrey or Keane need to step in when fixtures get congested.

    Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

I have to agree. Yes, the defence has made mistakes this season but seeing as we haven't been scoring, it only takes 1 mistake to finish us at the moment.

    Confirmed Signing Dele Alli

We pay £10 million once he makes 20 appearances which can only happen next season. The rest of the fee is made up my performance clauses so if he ever costs that much then he will have a been a top signing. Top level negotiating by Everton really.

    Farhad Moshiri

I wouldn't call Wood and Trippier top quality. They're both good players but they're both over 30 so more like what we did at first.

    2021/22 Lucas Digne

It has been handled very poorly but the fact is that with the exception of the beginning of last season, expansive play has been on the cards since the end of 2019 and Digne hasn't had the same impact on the squad for 18 months. Lovely guy and a very good player but arguably we have done the...

    2021/22 Salomón Rondón

Far too early to write him off. He hasn't played football for 4-5 months before joining, then had 2 weeks to try and get as fit as possible to try and play 3 games in a week. Although nothing on DCL, he was much stronger against United and cause them a few issues at times. He's got another 2...

    2021/22 Lucas Digne

With the way Benitez has us playing, should we think about cashing in on Digne? It's fairly clear that so far this season he's not being asked to attack as often as before and he's never been the best defensively. Obviously I think he's a top quality player but if we're not making the most of...

Match Thread Everton v Burnley - Preview, Match Report and MotM Poll

I thought bringing Gomes on was a weird choice but with Allan sitting back and Doucoure able to keep pushing forward, it just allowed him to control and move the ball. Real shame he didn't make it 4 but showed signs of getting back to what we have been expecting.

What's your verdict on Marcel Brands?

What I'm saying is I don't think Brands fully agreed with the signings of James or Allan because they were but Ancelotti wanted them so they were sanctioned. I fully agree that if a new manager's influence can bring in players then you have to take advantage of that but it's still debatable if...

What's your verdict on Marcel Brands?

He is a DOF in name only. There is no way he had the final say in appointing Ancelotti or Benitez and signings such as James aren't down to him. His job for the last 3 years has mainly been based around clearing out players signed by Walsh/Koeman/Allardyce but the huge wages some of them were on...

    2020/21 Bernard

He simply isn't strong enough for this league and doesn't have the trickery to help him out. Signing him on a free was worth the gamble if we get a decent fee for him.

Match Thread Everton v Southampton 1/3/21 - Preview, Match Report and MotM Poll

I don't think it was particularly disjointed, just played in 2nd gear for most of it and with the of the Vestergaard chance at the end, they were awful. We should've had a couple more from set pieces and Doucoure had a decent chance in the 2nd half. Boring performance but got the job done.
