There is a very active hooligan scene at most German clubs, similar to England 20 odd years ago. They associate large groups of English fans who visit Germany as still having an active scene.
There was an invitation by Hannover fans for a mutual meeting, which was declined as the Evertonians there only wanted to have a good time and enjoy themselves, which was respected.
Everton fans travelling to European away games will be fast gaining a good reputation for their massive numbers, good banter, and most importantly good behaviour.

Did anybody else cut through the trees after the game to see the one policeman trying to usher away about a hundred blues? Haha! "Go back, go back!" Nah mate, it's sound. Haha.

Hahahaha! I stayed on the jammed pathway below, but I saw a fair few head up the bank.

With hindsight the easy way was veer right through the car park, over the main road then use the footbridge they have for the Autostadt.

Really obvious the next morning, not pissed.

Think we stumbled into this police escor people mentioned, came out of the Subway to be surrounded by about 100 of them and loads of police, vans etc we just carried on walking alongside them but they were all eerily quiet so we assumed they had been told off by the plod.

Something happened near one of the bars where we were drinking in the Kaufhauf before the game - saw loads of police running towards one of the bars and then moving a couple of 100 'ultras' away from the area. Not sure if they were trying to kick off or it was just the German police letting them know who was in charge.

It was similar in Bremen on the Saturday, we arrived at the railway station at the same time as a load of Paderborn 'ultras', the police were all over them like a rash - marching them out of the station and keeping them under video surveillance. The rest of the town was full of home and away supporters mixing at the Christmas markets without a hint of any trouble.

The German police seemed to have a lot more sense than the French police.
