I don’t particularly have an axe to grind with him, I respect what he did and he certainly got some great players in, to some extent arguably under achieving imho, however his narrative was he was over achieving, and we were forever the bridesmaid and there was nothing more could be expected under the circumstances.
During his tenure the following luminaries of English football all won silverware Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Spurs, Swansea, Portsmouth, and Birmingham.
Maybe it’s just me and he really was the Moysiah.
The manner of his departure was unforgivable too but that’s another debate.
Given the context he was over achieving here mate, were he took us from, to and comparable to what others were spending.
He hit a glass ceiling here, but that was more to do with our limits, then his potential, he’s went and got his European Trophey, building another club from scratch without the significant financial limits he experienced here.
He did an incredible job and we were blessed to have him.
Id still have him back in the morning.
