Pre-season

The Guadiana cup in the Algarve would be boss, Superbok, Seafood, Sunshine and the Blues.

Benfica and another European team.

Failing that anywhere in Southern Spain.

Who should we be trying to get for the next pre-season.

We mucked up the last one so badly we surely must get the next one right.

PSG at Goodison.

Maybe we should aim for the same type of "pre season" that the RS and the Mancs had.

You know....where they went to America, beat the cream of European club sides like Milan and Real Madrid before facing off in an epic final in which the Mancs won a trophy.

The RS came home and demolished Dortmund at The Pit in what was supposed to be a glimpse of what treats were in store for the Anfield faithful.

Then happen we might be just and scintillating and convincing in the first two and a half months of next season as they have been in this one.

Oh....wait......

On the other hand, maybe you should sit back and enjoy this season as it continues to unfold instead of worrying who the team might be playing in a pre season friendly next August ;)

How about a pre-season in Iraq with ISIS sponsoring the tour? Losers get beheaded.

Or maybe we could enjoy this season as it unfolds and also have a bit of fun dreaming of pre-season games. I like the idea of a friendly in Ireland, play all our Irish players, should attract a Big enough crowd to pay fir the trip and maybe pick up a few more fans. Ireland always has a few good players on the go, an Everton presence here just might pick up the next Coleman. Also it is a short flight and an overnight stay.

We didn't 'mess up' pre-season at all. Do I think the opponents could have been different/better - yes. But, half of our squad had been to the WC. We'd have picked up a lot more injuries if we'd have done tour of the US like Liverpool/United.

Martinez' plan was to have us coming into our form September. The injuries we had derailed that and we didn't have a good start. But you can see now it's coming into shape.
