Dare I start a new thread about our next game....... Quite looking forward to a weekend without Everton ruining it!!

Anyway, never been to Selhurst Park before so am wondering what it's like and where the social is before?

Cheers.

It is perhaps the finest example of neo classical architecture in South London. A glorious edifice of splendid proportions in an elegant, cosmopolitan, yet unpretentious area. Away fans are greeted personally by individual hosts and hostesses and escorted to their individual seats, with adjustable backs and head rests. (Don't forget to ask for extra cushions.)
Requests in advance for the home team to simply roll over are welcomed, and usually accommodated without any fuss whatsoever, and at the end of the game, long suffering but good natured red and blue clad fans will happily carry you piggy back to Norwood Junction, slip you ten pounds and wave you happily off before going to do an evening shift at the hostel for those less fortunate than themselves.

Wetherspoons in Norwood is the away fans pub of choice. I'll post up a preview at some point.

Last time I went to Selhurst Mick Madar was playing, and a fat Brolin for them. No memory of pubs...
10 January 1998. Palace 1 Everton 3. My youngest son (the Evertonian) was the Everton mascot that day. Much less corporate than it is now. We sat in the Everton dressing room before the game and chatted with Big Dunc, Inchy, Danny Cademarteri, John Oster and Craig Short. Madar was a lovely chap but didn't know a word of English. the late Gary speed was captain and treated my lad like he was part of the team. It remains the only time in 46 years that I have walked away from a home defeat at Selhurst with huge smile on my face. Everton (the club) were superb that day in organising everything. My lad was ten and still says it was the best day of his life.

I remeber always a good away day at selhurst havent been there for seems a life time. Funny enough only seen palace once mainly the proper wimbledon (not hampton and richmond lot)

Hard to get to even if you are already in London.

Oh brilliant they beat Southampton away and are on the up.

We'll do well to get a point, which is a MUST before the derby.

A point there will be a good result for us to be honest, make sure at least one side dosent leap over us that afternoon. Making sure you dont get beat isnt pretty, we did it for years with Moyes, and even Walter Smith, at times we the fans didn't like it, but it necessity at the time and could be right now.

Went to Palace last season on the coach, left at 6am got back at 2am. Coach got lost and ended up driving towards Brighton. Was a laugh though.
