New Years Eve

The most forced of the forced nights out. Almost guaranteed to underwhelm.

What is a shame is that the vast majority of pubs and clubs make it a ticketed event, so you simply cannot be spontaneous on NYE.

I've been in bed well before midnight the past couple of NYEs.

not arsed about it to be honest, i have a odd drink if i am forced to by swocial convention, and last year i was drinking thorntons chocolate liquer (horrible) as i had to have one with my other half being otherwise capable of drinking.

But normally by half 12 im ready for bed.

The most abysmal night of telly imaginable following a normal working day. Thankfully this year we are actually going out for dinner with friends and if it is racked up by a tenner for a 'special NYE's menu' then so be it. It is the pubs in town though that I would avoid like the plague.

Like others have said it's usually a bit crap unless you've got a house party to go to.

This year though I'm going out in my local town to a bit of a rubbish bar, but a few people I know are going so it should at least be okay. I paid for a ticket which annoyed me as they were a rip off but I can walk home easily.

Working as i usually do. Never really enjoyed New Years Eve. Not sure why, all just seems so forced to me. The Missus and the kids will all be tucked up in bed and i'll be downstairs working with Jools Holland on. Usual NYE for us. Man, we are so rock and roll!
