I remember a game here when

I don't think the performance has been bad to be fair, especially against an in-form United, and one who've fielded a strong XI.

If we did play like this against most teams, we'd pick up more points. The real issue is that we will not play like this against most teams.

If we played what seemed to me to be (I’m watching on my phone) a 5-3-2, compact, not trying to play a high line and get ripped open, and springing on the counter, even here with no Gordon and DCL who would be important players in that scheme we’d be ok. Gray has been very good, Iwobi close to his best, and even Maupay more suited.

It’s not a pretty pretty attacking scheme but we don’t have the horses for that. We do have 3 CB who can play well if they’re not asked to play a high line.
