As nice as it would be, 17 mil would probably only get you Lukaku's right leg.

Think £20m would secure him actually. Don't think Mourinho fancies him.

But I don't think Lukaku would want it, not before we qualified for the Champions League anyway. We'd want a five year contract and he'd want a chance to play on the biggest stage.

If you think about it, has Lukaku done enough to entice the clubs who have £20m to splash on a striker to throw that money on him? I personally don't think so. He's a talent but it's still a massive gamble for the money.

my tactical nous is pretty much zilch (apart from being a little bit boss on fifa), so could someone explain why Mirallas couldn't potentially be our striker in this system? good finisher who can run and create his own as well as help in build up play... goes missing on the right but still seems to produce a little bit of magic, get the ball into him in the centre and who knows. get an awesome new winger in instead.

Probably two things lacking are winning aerial duels, and hold-up against double teams. I think you see how Martinez uses a guy like Rom, likes a real strength guy up there. But then again, maybe he just couldn't pass up Rom on loan.

My Dad just spoke to Carl Irwin to find out the ins and outs of the Jelavic etc., apparently talks with Stoke re: Jones are, his words, ''hotting up''. Christ Bobby I hope you know what you're doing lad!

Can guarantee you right now we won't sign Kenwyne Jones. There's just no way.

Bank the Jelavic money. Buy Lukaku in the summer with Fellaini/Anichebe surplus.

Loan for some random South American that nobody has ever heard of in the January window, after a work permit appeal.

Nailed on.

Rep'd for implying Denis will come back. He looks happy about the prospect:

Shane long.... Jesus Christ on a bike people!!

Imagine lakaku getting injured and we had to finish this season with long leading the line...OMG!

He's not good enough to start for WBA every week, why the hell is he good enough to lead our line? He's not.
You don't buy a back up going for CL, you buy a starter who can challange or replace the current starter.

Go to Leo Casino, put the £5 million for Jelavic and the 'missing £10 million' all on red, and buy Lukaku. Sorted.

Demba Ba, £7m. That'd be a great signing. I know he hasn't had the best time at Chelsea but he's been disrupted badly by managerial changes.

Ba has everything we need in a striker - strength, technical skill, goalscoring ability, peak of his career, and we're at the right level to entice him.

Ohhh yes please. Bobby actually called Chelsea to loan Ba, but was told only Lukaku was available.

Hopefully Chelsea could consider selling him now...?
