No, those are facts now.

As a result at the end of 2023 Everton have approximate borrowings of £200 million to Rights and Media Funding (at base rate plus 5% per annum), £140 million to MSP and their limited partners, £20 million to Metro Bank (Everton’s bankers) plus emergency funding of £100 million from 777 Partners – working capital provided monthly to meet the difference between income, operating costs and payments to the main stadium contractor Laing O’Rourke.

That’s £460 million outstanding with commercial rates of interest being charged.

In addition, there’s a further £150 million to be found to complete payments to Laing O’Rouke. Maintaining the payment schedule with Laing O’Rourke is critical. Defaulting on the existing contract is highly punative.

Adding Moshiri’s £500 million of shareholder loans, the outstanding payments to Laing O’Rourke and existing borrowings we have a total in excess of £1.1 billion.

All figures can be found here.

That’s absolutely god awful. Even if it’s £500m out it’s still £500m debt and climbing…,

Well, if 777 take over as you’re convinced they will, then everything they’ve lent us so far becomes equity. So you can knock about £300m off your figures for a kick off, and then we can talk.

Not automatically. Debt only gets converted to equity if the debtholder agrees. From what we've seen of 777 so far, its not likely to happen, and they'll stick a fat interest rate on it too.

Werner at the yids mean richy is available?

Dont get that move - have they got amnesia regarding his Chelsea stint….

To be fair to Werner he came with a big reputation. He got himself into good positions but found himself hitting posts or keeper saving etc, a bit like Nunez. If he regains his confidence there is no reason he can’t become a 15/20 goal a season striker again.

No idea why people are bothering with this in the current climate of the finances being in a total mess.

Sell to buy, that’s the only way forward. However the only sellable assets are vital to our survival.

Unless we offload it will surely be the same players going forward into the second half of the season.
