Europa goes down to 6th this season because of the League Cup, 7th getting EL depends on the result of the FA Cup though.

37 days is 37 days, to be honest mate Martinez says a lot of things, most of it mouthwash. Its a distraction for him as well, something he dosen't need. Having to keep an eye on too many levels isn't something he seems to be able to do, has he ever done well in more than one competition in any given season?

The point is trying to win things, to bring back a pot, end the barren years, competing in the EL so the fans can have an away day isnt going to do that, if anything it will make it less likely.

sad fact is though unless alot of things change and we get lucky breaks throughout the season we won't be challenging for CL or the title. Last year nearly everything went perfect for us and we still finished 5th. Chelsea isn't falling off as long as mourhino and roman are there, City and United will throw another 150m a piece at their squad, while Arsenal hasn't fallen outside the top for in who knows how long. Like you said though a cup win should be a focus for next year

Thing is, we are never going to qualify for the CL. The EL is the only European competition we're ever going to qualify for. So are you saying you are happy if Everton never play in Europe again?

So, you'd be happy to enter the EL after winning the Cup, but seemingly aren't interested by doing it via a league position because it would hinder us winning the Cup in the first place?

We could qualify for the CL by winning the Europa league.
We were only 3 great players and a clued up manager short this year.
We have to keep having a go.
I remember the 70s when we kept losing in semi- finals. I never thought we'd ever win anything then either.
