I was working in London at the time and the only way I could afford to get to Leeds was on the West Ham soccer special. Imagine the scene going back..I pretended to be asleep as they all celebrated. I went straight to work after.
From going from Bob Latchford celebrating climbing the fence in front of me to that nightmare of the train journey back still haunts me

I remember rushing home from school lunchtime 1980 semi final draw being made up we avoided Liverpool and arsenal and had got second division West ham,easy that........

It's actually the 1973/74 FA Cup - we ended up playing Blackburn.

The last time I heard an FA Cup draw on the wireless would've been in 1959, before my family went to Australia, but I remember
the tension and excitement of it all. Even now, I try to find the actual draw online so I can follow it in sequence.
