I don’t think the problem was Gylfi or Gomes so much as Gylfi AND Gomes. I’m fine with the pragmatic approach. We were sorely lacking a creative dribbling threat

Unfortunately shocking starting line up and tactics today and was much too slow in changing it. Very disappointing not to take match to a team who sit back.

When I saw the line up I was ok with it, but it was very obvious a change was needed at half time as we were creating nothing and Gomes looked like he was running in treacle.

We are back to looking like garbage again I’m afraid. There’s just not enough quality or pace when you take the main 2 players out.

Why would we be so expansive? Flat back four and the 3 in midfield is solid enough, let the front 3 be expansive, James offers no defensive contribution from the right anyway and Gordon works as hard as richy in tracking back. At least we’d have some shape and continuity, and most importantly wouldn’t have a team packed with slugs

Yes he’s won the lot but as football fans in general we can question a bizarre lineup. Pundits will too.
