Captain?

I realize there are a lot of people who don't think Neville will leave, including myself but...

If we entertain the notion for just a moment, who'd be the new Captain?


Carsley? ...because he is the vet and we need his leadership on the field?
Arteta? ...because he is our best player and will be on the field for practically every match?


Is there anybody else on the short list?

It'd be Stubbs, surely

Lescott is a future captain but not yet.

I was going to put Stubsy on the list as well but his pitch is getting even smaller than Neville's.

Rsiky one this, but I might have to plump for Cahill. There is a fire in his belly and the added responsibility might do him good.

I'd say stubbs and then after him howard, carsley, lescott, yobo, arteta all are worthy.

Don't know why, but I prefer to have a midfielder as captain. Otherwise I'd go for Lescott or Howard. But for now... Arteta.. if he can stop waving his arm to try and influence the referee to show opponents yellow cards.
