I think he'll stay with the under 21s for at least the first half of the season. Maybe a loan after that. The more highly rated of our youngsters in his age bracket tend to be forward thinking players (George Green, Courtney Duffus) so having a technically gifted centre half will help us build from the back Martinez style.

So they'll get a development fee set by tribunal. I doubt that'll be anywhere near £4m

Yeah but Powell was a highly rated attacker who always have a premium (like Oxlade-Chamberlain at the time etc.) and Stones was considerably less than £4m and had played more games at a higher level - I think the Stones sort of transfer fee would be expected.

Just because it's a 4m deal doesn't mean we'll pay that. We may only pay 1m upfront for him the rest of it could be based on appearances and preformance.

Stones was £3m, so not much less. He had played at one division higher, but not that often.
