Best Away You've Been to

Stood on the Stretford End that night with my Uncle who was a Utd fan....me aged about 12-13 in my Everton scarf.started at the top and ended at the bottom...all fortunately good humoured.
I was in the away end for that game, remember the goals going in, was made up, then we had a moody walk back to Oxford Rd station, seemed like they had mobs on every street corner !

Man U away Dec 83, reckon we had 3-400 there (2 sections of the Warwick rd end) everyone thought we would get twatted and we outplayed them at times, Sheedy crashed one in of the underside of the bar just after half time, 1 nil, that was the first time i remember thinking, we might have the makings of something here..........
I was in a Man Utd lounge that day on a freebie through work ,Had a word with Matt Busby before the game and told him we were going to stuff them (he just blanked me and walked away ,not exactly a man of the people that day). When Sheeds scored I was bouncing much to the annoyance of all around me.
I never got asked again dont know why like

any win against the RS , especially if on the Kop,
Radcliffe one was good because me and jaycee got into the wrong part of the stand, and got escorted along the pitch side, just in time to give full on abuse to the Liverpool bench as we passed, hanging in to give a volley of hatred to there bench , and Alan Harper egging us on from the EFC dugout, "go on lads give them loads." the copper who was escorting us was in bulk, he was a blue , then we realised everybody in red was giving us daggers and abuse, well f you , we just went and sat right in the middle of them in the main stand, kicked off at half time a bit with a few of them from Kirkby , only for the cops to tell me off again, it was @jaycee fault I recon, when the copper left. a man mountain with a beard came down, about 6ft 5 built like a brick s,house and lent over, I though, Ho, no here we go, and he said to the reds in front , they arnt on there own you know if it goes off I will f.kin kill every one of you, smug smiles all around thanks who ever you were,
At the end a few of the players came over and gave us a clap, happy days and give the reds there due, they were fine just said it was one div with them that had started it, ended up having a drink with the Kirkby lads later on by chance, minus the div.
One that I thought had a brilliant atmosphere was the milk cup semi final at Villa, we got beat 1-0 ,but went through as we had won 2-0 at home, blues everywhere , fanatical support. at the end loads on the pitch , foxy who used to be off here is seen on running the full length of the pitch on tv, quite clearly, think its on youtube.

Every european away I've managed to get to has been a stinker, for example choosing Lile over Wolfsburg as I went the friendly.

Best away I've been to, West Ham 3 in 6 mins or whatever it was. Coach broke down, had to get a train, then walked into seeing that fraud Jack Collison scoring wondering why you bother... rest is history.

Honourable mentions to Sunderland in the cup, Spurs 2-0 after 21 years without a win there.

Going to read through this thread be jealous at most European ones and probably come back and add 5 more. Got to love Everton

A 3-0 win in the League Cup at Old Trafford in the 1970s is a good memory.
Tommy Docherty, then the Manure manager, provided me with two tickets in their main stand near the directors box and we battered them

77 league cup run?
All the Kung fu stars, coins and '45' records coming over the whole game and the police just laughing at us. Think there were five stabbings that night. Got jumped by about 12 of them outside so curled up against a fence to limit the damage.

Couldn't find mates car after that so luckily some blues down from Barrow (I think and thanks again if you read this) took pity on me so we chased around the docks looking for my mates cars - who were also chasing round looking for me.
When we found them - flashing lights and hanging out the car -they stopped and were slightly surprised as they thought we were mancs looking for a fight.

Great night, great result and bad bad police.

Jablonec in Austria this pre-season. We spent the whole way there worrying about whether we were going to get in, as the club had said it would be played behind closed doors. No problems when we got there and the location was incredible, snow-capped mountains and forests surrounding the small town of Schruns where the game was played. Nothing particularly memorable about the match but a great trip and an incredible place to watch Everton.

The cup replay at Sunderland was one of my favourites. The support was fantastic and we played them off the park. They were going well under Martin O'Neill at the time and I thought we'd probably blown our chance after drawing the home game. Shame we [Poor language removed] up in the semi-final.

Not going to Kharkiv is probably the biggest regret of my life so far.
