Just got to hope it can be maintained and that he is looked after properly on and off the field.
Good news if Lukaku has taken him under his wing, for all the early attention that can go to a young lads head like we've seen with players like Berahino, Rom has been a model professional off pitch and can hopefully mentor him to be the same.

Really hopeful for this lad thought he took that chance rea;;y well from a acute angle....would anyone have been confident if it was Del or kone who had that chance ?

Think he will be superb given time

Ademola Lookman needed just two touches to score on his Everton debut against Manchester City on Sunday.

And it took the youngster less than four minutes on the field to open his account.

Introduced in the 90th minute as a substitute for Ross Barkley, the clock had ticked around to 93:47 when he shot brilliantly past Claudio Bravo.

But he’s not the first youngster to score on his debut for the Blues. And he’s still not the fastest.

We take a look back at some of the other quickfire Blues to net on their debuts.

Tony Cottee - 34 seconds
The most whirlwind of the lot.

Cottee scored 34 seconds into his Everton debut with a goal against Newcastle United on August 27th 1988. A long ball found its way to Cottee’s strike partner on the day, Everton legend Graeme Sharp, but his shot was saved by Dave Beasant and rebounded to a waiting Cottee.

The forward powered the ball home from close range and calmed any nerves about his then record transfer fee for a British player.

Cottee, 24-years-old at the time, went on to get a hat-trick that day in a famous Everton debut.

Ademola Lookman - 4 minutes
The new signing from Charlton Athletic couldn’t have dreamt that his Everton debut would go any better. After being unable to play a role in Everton’s FA Cup loss to Leicester City, Lookman was named to the bench against Manchester City.

With Everton in control and Goodison Park jubilant, Lookman was sent on to replace the impressive Ross Barkley with little time left to play.

The forward anticipated a poor clearance from former Everton defender John Stones and slotted through Claudio Bravo’s legs before wheeling away in celebration in front of the Gwladys Street end.

Ademola Lookman's first goal for Everton.

4:18 PM - 15 Jan 2017

Lacina Traore – 4 minutes
The giant centre-forward joined Everton on-loan from Monaco in January 2014 – and made his debut in an FA Cup tie against Swansea a fortnight later.

He scored with a cheeky backheel after only four minutes.

It proved a false dawn. It was his only Everton start – but he joins the exclusive ranks of Evertonians to enjoy one game, one goal.

James Vaughan - 11 minutes
In April 2005, James Vaughan entered the fray against Crystal Palace after 73 minutes, with Everton cruising 3-0. It only took the youngster 11 minutes to find the scoresheet, prodding home a ball from Kevin Kilbane.

The forward, who is now plying his trade for Bury (he scored four times in 25 minutes on Saturday), broke both an Everton and Premier League record as the youngest ever goalscorer at 16 years and 270 days, beating Wayne Rooney and James Milner respectively. Both records still stand to this day.

Other Everton Young Guns
Wayne Rooney - 2-1 Arsenal

Wayne Rooney’s goal will live on in the memory of plenty Evertonians and football fans alike. Coming off the bench against Arsenal, he was able to end the Gunners 30-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Rooney controlled a clearance from Thomas Gravesen before hitting a curling shot that beat David Seaman.

At 16 years and 360 days, Rooney is Everton’s second youngest league goal scorer of all time, just behind Vaughan.

Tommy Lawton - 2-7 Wolves
Tommy Lawton was stuck behind the great Dixie Dean and found limited opportunities initially in the Everton side. With Dean being rested against Wolverhampton Wanderers in February 1937, Lawton was able to find the net from the penalty spot.

At 17 years and 130 days, Lawton clocks in as Everton’s third youngest league scorer behind Vaughan and Rooney.
