Cleared some deadwood, saving wages. Bobby didnt find anyone he wanted who was available. Dont see the problem, some just want to spend on anyone, Moyes wasted a fortune on Bily, but then some here think millions is nothing!

Everton done

"Everton have confirmed there will be no more dealings tonight. They were trying to get a midfield player in but it hasn't happened. It would have been a bonus. There are areas of the squad that are a bit thin but they seem happy with what they've got."

Where have i heard that line before, Oh every January for 10 years

What was said?

Rolled out the World Cup excuse with Heitinga and said said he brought in two outstanding players...no striker cover, no midfield cover...what was interesting was that he lost his composure just for second there, and the SSN guy then gave him an out by saying "so it's all about bringing in quality"...he took that out and ran with it till the interview ended...

He was saying all of that, and smiling, but I just got the feeling watching that is that he was very disappointed that at least the midfielder had not been brought in...just a feeling...just an opinion...

Marvelous,fantastic, just what we needed....
I actually convinced myself something good would happen today, what a farce, I have faith in Roberto so just trust he wouldnt get anyone we needed, keep expecting to hear "big story coming out of Goodison" on Talk Sport but reality has set in, may as well go to bed

Just proves that spending money doesn't mean succcess

Johnny has been useless for the past two seasons, we don't need a replacement for him! We're currently pushing for Europe and people still need something to complain about.

It's not the board's fault that Heitenga rejected West Ham and left us with 30 minutes to get a replacement!

Even if we had someone in our minds, we would have to bid, get a medical done and papers signed. It would be a panic buy at last - there is no need.

Haha, its all Johnny's fault.

We are saving our money for the summer.

You get ripped off in January. It's better to buy in the summer

People will peddle this crap as gospel, we have the smallest squad already compared to our nearest rivals. We currently have no fit first team strikers, sold two players bought one and took another player on loan.

Happy dayz.

To be fair to Martinez he said this at the start of the window before all the long term injuries. Mcgeady and Troare for Jela and hietinga is a slight imporvement. However I agree with our injury crisis currently we had least needed a CM in and a replacement for Heitinga if he left. Im disappointed in that regard

When you make a claim like he did you have to consider that injuries can and do happen all the time. Otherwise you end up looking a tit, like he does now.

Don't worry lads... Just think in the summer we need to get in at least 2 strikers, a CM and a winger! It'll be exciting for sure!

He'll be just like a new signing...

I agree mate and I'm definitely not having a pop at Martinez; I adore the guy.

But the injuries haven't been kept from him; he knows they've happened! So given that there is apparently money to spend, how come he saw fit not to strengthen the squad following these injuries?

The one thing we can all agree on is that Traore & McGeady is a better pairing than Jelavic & Heitinga!
