Your stance on Martinez AND what would change it?

Sack him in the summer. We are going to have serious money come our way this summer, and we should be using it in order to get a top, top manager. We shouldn't be settling for the likes of Martinez with the money at our disposal.

He is already the 6th best paid manager in the Premier League, and the 14th best paid manager in world football, and yet he is taking us to the bottom half. We have an opportunity to attract a really good manager, but at the moment this opportunity is being wasted.

name the really good manager?

There's another thread where there are PLENTY of suggestions mate, plenty of them. My choice, out of the numerous alternatives suggested in the other thread is Unai Emery, who is out of contract in the summer.

He doesn't seem to be in control. He's a soft touch. Players seem to like him because they get to "develope" as they wish - irrespective of the teams needs. We have gone from having the third best defensive record in 12/13 to having one of the worst. The club is a kind of nursery now for players who will be moving on sometime soon - it may be exciting occasionally - but that excitement is mainly expectation that will never be realised.

My stance is that he's an off-duty clown.

I'm just grateful that @chicoazul has been good enough not to vault me for banging the Martinez drum when Moyes moved on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky.

Would be a good choice. Thanks for naming him.

More than a lot of others have done when I've asked.

edit: would certainly be an ambitious appointment. Emery will have his pick of clubs around Europe. Not sure though, as he didn't like Del at Sevilla, doubt he'd like him here, and may not get best of Barkley, Lukaku etc.

No wins in next 5 league games - Get rid
Less than 50 points at end of season - Get rid
Over 50 points and lessons learned (defence organised) - Keep

I'd also like to see our home crowd a bit more positive at times. Criticise when they deserve it, yes, but not consistent moaning. The team need support.

1 set of people is getting paid 000s to perform on the pitch
1 set of people is paying a VAST sum of money to watch them perform

I suggest the people that are getting paid, should give the paying public something to cheer for.

Frustrated with Martinez. Something's wrong with this squad, and all signs point to him. I've agreed with those who said he needs 3 years, so he's got a few games left to change my mind, but I'd be interested in hearing what the player think/say about it all.

Constantly not competing in games.
give a little more detail please. also I think its fair to say that thinking everton are or are not competeing is subjective. So why not try setting some sort of statistical target, such as winning a minimum number of games or gaining a certain number of points.
