Controversial front 3 maybe, but Duncan was my idol as a kid and his kind of unpredictability would be invaluable in the modern game. Rooney and Lineker simply the best 2 strikers to wear an Everton shirt in my lifetime.

You and I were chosen within a year or so of each other. My team, based on watching from 1984 onwards

I'm not sure about Lescott and Carsley. I think Manny Fernandes could make the subs bench, as could Arteta, and I would consider swapping either of them in for Cars. I also think Barkley would be my choice over all three of them in about two years' time. Perhaps Cars would actually be my backup for Peter Reid.

Some positions are very tough calls to make. Others, like GK, LB, the wide midfielders and the strikers, are easy.
