League One
Lincoln City - Callum Connolly started and was substituted at half time in a 0-2 away loss to Gillingham

OS Match Report

Twitter stuff
42' Connolly uses his strength well to steer Hanlan away from a clipped through ball and Vickers claims.

Fan comments
Connolly - 5.5. Seems to have gone off form again.
Connelly 4. Part of the shambles but at least tried to get stuck in, subbing him instead of Pett or Chapman was strange.

League One
Burton Albion - Nathan Broadhead started on the bench, came on in the 61st minute and then was substituted himself in the 74th minute of a 0-1 away defeat to Peterborough United

OS Match Report
"Albion began to exert themselves more again as the game entered the final quarter, Broadhead with a sweet cross with the outside of his boot finding Edwards at the back post and the midfielder finding Brayford on his inside to send a stinging shot goalwards that Christy Pym had to mobilise himself for to push it aside.
Broadhead's involvement lasted just shy of a quarter of an hour as the young Welshman took a knock and gingerly left the field to be replaced by Boyce."

German Bundesliga
Schalke 04 - Jonjoe Kenny played full match in 2-1 away win over Werder Bremen

OS Match Report

Generally marked him as 'adequate' to 'good'. No other particular comments.

Kieran Dowell was an unused substitute.
Joao Virginia was not in matchday squad.

Championship
Hull City - Josh Bowler started on the bench and came on in the 59th minute of a 2-2 away draw with Middlesbrough

OS Match Report
"Fine hold-up play from Eaves created the Tigers’ next shooting opportunity as he laid the ball into the path of Bowler. The Everton loanee took a touch before firing a low drive on target that was pushed away by Randolph."

Matthew Pennington and Fraser Hornby were unused substitutes.
Korede Adedoyin was not in matchday squad.

So in summary of the 9 players on loan Kenny played 90 mins , 3 others got game time totalling about 90 mins between them and of all the Male Everton players this weekend only Kenny played in a winning team. Guess we’ve had better weekends :(

Championship
Derby County - Kieran Dowell started on the bench and came on in the 62nd minute and was booked in a 0-3 away loss to Fulham

70' | Better from the Rams. @kierandowell1 finds Lowe out wide, he cuts inside and picks out @Mwaghorn_9 but his effort goes wide.
90+2' | @kierandowell1 is booked for clipping Johansen.

Joao Virginia and Nathan Broadhead were not in matchday squads.

Championship
Hull City - Josh Bowler started and was substituted in the 71st minute of a 4-0 home win over Preston North End

OS Match Report
"Preston goalkeeper Declan Rudd kept out another Grosicki effort with Bowen finding the surface too tricky to get on the end of the rebound, while Rudd was also forced to turn Bowler’s effort over the bar."
"The Tigers were offered the opportunity to double their lead three minutes into the second half – and they took it. Grosicki played Bowler into the box and when he went down under Ryan Ledson’s challenge, the referee immediately pointed to the spot. Magennis stepped up and found the net from 12 yards despite the best efforts of Rudd who got a good hand on the Northern Ireland international’s effort."
"Long saved from Billy Bodin at the other end but the home side were soon back on the attack as Bowler sent a powerful drive narrowly wide."
"A first substitution came 19 minutes from time as George Honeyman replaced the impressive Bowler."

Twitter stuff
41' - Bowler forces a save out of Rudd! The fleet-footed winger dances along the box before cutting onto his right and bending it towards goal, forcing the Preston 'keeper to tip it over.
47' - HULL CITY PENALTY!!!! Josh Bowler is fouled in the box!!!
51' - HULL CITY GOAL!!! What a beautiful bit of play between Bowler, Magennis and Bowen to tee up Grosicki, who makes no mistake from 6 yards!!!
54' - Two more chances for the Tigers to make it four! Grosicki pulls the ball back looking for Bowen who can't quite reach it, before Bowler drives at the Preston defence on the next attack and bends a venomous effort just over. What a goal that would've been.
56' - Josh Bowler is causing havoc for Preston. The winger has been lively all night and has really come alive in this second half. A poor challenge from Gallagher on the Tigers' winger after a weaving run sees him shown a yellow card.

other than JJK Bowler seems to be the only one who may do something this season, not tearing up trees but seems to be growing in influence and is getting regular game time, good on ya lad

Doesn't seem to be a golden crop at the moment. Hopefully JJK can be our first choice right back next season. Always good to have a few Merseysiders in the team.
Does anyone think Dowell still has a chance of being at least a squad player at Everton? He's knocking on a bit now for a "youngster".

I’d say having JJK, Davies, Holgate and DCL in the first team/squad next season - whilst no golden crop - is still a very successful academy stint. We bought two of them in but they were young lads and still spent time in the U23’s.

No idea what’s going to happen with Dowell. For me he’s either sold in the Summer never to be heard of again or a new manager comes in, plays him in the PL and he becomes amazing. Could go either way.

He's got a few people to knock out of the way before he is played in attacking midfield - including Iwobi and Davies, without considering Sigurdsson or Bernard (or Gordon or any other current youth player). I doubt that he is suddenly going to transform himself into a ball-winning tiger in the middle of the park...
