I think it’s a lot more likely that Dyche simply had (misguided) trust in Keane given he’d worked extensively with him in the past.

Yeah, I’m sure he did but if Mina was supposedly that much better I’m sure even Dyche would have had him in there, even if it was just bringing him on as a sub earlier.

I don’t think Mina is without ability but I do think he was a poor signing for us, all things considered. If we were any other club I’d say we’d deffo be better off without him but his replacement is likely to be an asthmatic fourteen year old from what’s left of the academy after the summer fire sale, so even his departure won’t do much to improve our prospects this season.

Ok, but how has he robbed us? If we paid Barca 30m, that is absolutely nothing to do with him.

If we offered him a contract that said we will pay him 6.2M a year, and he got 6.2M a year, that's not really robbery - it is his wages.

If you mean he has cost us over 50M and you don't think we have got value for money, that's fine. But I am still intruiged as to how that is robbery

Exactly. If he’d been consistent/dedicated he would deserve the praise but he didn’t do anywhere near enough considering what he is actually capable of.

Ok mate we wasn’t robbed in that case then but definitely dry bummed not a smidge of Vaseline in sight. If you think he earned his £5m a year or whatever it was that’s fine for me he’s stole a living along with a load of other crap, while Mina was decent he’s not as good as he thinks he is or some of our fans think he is he stood out in a poor side thank you goodbye

I didn't say he robbed us mate, i outlined his cost when you queried it, my own description would be he was poor value.

If we lost 45 mill last year mate, his cost annually was a quarter of that. Good player but made of wet weetabix.

For a club our size if we are spending 11 mill on a player every year, we need them on the pitch and contributing almost all the time.

Well i think there was plenty of blame to go around. I think it was a bad bit of recruitment, firstly i dont think we did great due diligence, he was injured more or less since coming to European football, that carried through over the length the of his contract here. I never liked his buy back clause either - but that proved irrelevant.

Hes been our top earner for a long time, if you go through the list of top earners at other clubs they are generally game changers, creative midfield types or forwards - ours was has been a Centre half. While we don't have any creative midfielders or forwards - that's rank decision making in distribution of recruitment resources.

Also how much have we spent of Centre half since hes been here due to his reliability, Godfrey, JT, Coady etc. Its all auxiliary cost.

Was a poor deal all round, he was our most expensive player, in an area we didnt really need, who was injury prone and cost us hege money - i can fault for effort for influence when he played, he just didnt do it enough to be value or considered an overall good signing in my opinion, overall his presence in the squad was depleting due to his cost.


The lad was sound when he played, he was a good player and he contributed, he won the lotto on the contract he was on - but we were stupid enpough to pay it. Was he worth 60 mill to us for 80 odd games - not for me.
