So what happened to that partnership deal they did with Man U?

I don't see it happening personally.

Doesn't make a difference for us. Tottenham spend multiples of what we spend and have always done so.
We're doing things the Wenger way now anyway. Not really worried about us being out-spent.

I love the way they can't even get the name of the club right.

But yeah, as Andriy says, Spurs are already rolling in it so I doubt it'll make any great difference to Everton.

London calling!

Is a decent investment - yet they dont really need it, with a big backer anyway and a strong balance sheet. Intresting when you consider they have advanced plans for a new ground.

dont matter who gets bought by billioners as long as they keep there money away from the r/s so operation division 2 can be completed

They sniffed around Liverpool aswell not too long ago but didn't like the look of the club apparently, who would. They are interested in investing into a Premier Leauge team according to some. C'mon Kenwright/wrong pull your finger out!

idunno who knows about baseball or whatever, but the yankees spend. like man city
and this site is pretty reliable

so, this is not good for us :(

if it happens, of course

Emm Excuse me mate. But as I see it its no different to the status quo. Spurs spend alot now due to a property portfolio in the capital (they took massive advantage of the "property bubble" there).

You don't realise that there's been a disproportionate spread of wealth in the UK in the last 15 years - mainly focused on the capital - and mainly relating to property.

So it's absolutely no difference to us.

That is all.

* Edit it's something Everton WILL and must be getting in on - when the new UEFA Fair Play rules come in in 2013.

We need revenue generators and as have said before Everton need to start thinking about buying assets like the ECHO arena to bring revenue onto our balance sheet.

This could be done in conjunction to the new stadium. Needs doing as revenue will be a big marker on how we compete long term.

Know your enemy.

Don't expect Hank to be too bothered really with his Dad dying suddenly last week.
Though you are exactly right (Hank may be in mourning), but that is the exact reason this actually seems plausible to me too.

Due to an idiotic political loophole over here, the "death tax" or "estate tax" doesn't exist if you die in 2010 (a one year loophole before it skyrockets in 2011). So because Steinbrenner (late owner of Yankees) died in 2009, he actually is saving his kids nearly HALF A BILLION dollars in taxes. Even in his death he makes a shrewd business deal...

While the Steinbrenner kids have known they would get a nice inheritance all along, because of this loophole, their windfall is far larger than they were even expecting. So buying a new team may be a real possiblity (though personally I think this may be something they do in a year or two... rushing it through before the season seems super unlikely to me, but this may be a story to watch in the future - especially if they end up selling the yankees).
