yakubu and the curse of the record fee

What I keep seeing is that Yakubu is fantastic with the ball at his feet and not such a great target man.

What I see in the highlights of the game is that when we do score from open play it comes from passing the ball on the floor, why oh why some members of our team feel the urge to hammer it 60 yards in the general direction of a blue shirt is lost on me.

Tevez, Berbatov and Torres came from different leagues and therefore could afforded time to settle in.

Yakubu has been here for beards. I hope he does come good, I just dont like lazy bastards in the blue shirt.

But we all knew he had a tendancy to be lazy.
If he's going to be lazy I just hope he becomes a goalscoring lazy git. Basically as long as he bangs em in all will be fine.
To be fair to him we probably havent been playing to his strengths. Time will tell I suppose.

Agreed (and welcome to the board Fazakerley...can I get a phonetic pronunciation on that  ).

Yakubu is at the polar end of the spectrum of AJ in how they play the game but frankly, the end result is what matters and that's goals. Yakubu's record in the Premiership is there for all to see.

He could walk to the box for all I care if he keeps hitting 'em.
