To be honest I wouldn't lose to much sleep over it. After watching Vic last weekend and all the chatter from the likes of appy arry sounded a little like Yak wasn't one to be in ship shape. 11 million sounded a little steep in my book after I put some more thought on it. But as usual I depend on the deceison either ya or nay by Davey on it. I do hope he may have other plans for a forward though if in fact the Yak deal falls through.
I'm staggered if you saw anything good in Anichebe's performance at Reading.
Was woeful, was poor against Spurs as well.
I hope he becomes an everton star, but given our current ambitions and status in the league, he is not premier quality. Time is on his side to mature into a better player and I hope he does, but it is unfair to pin our hopes on his youthful shoulders at present. Don't mean to dis him, just telling it the way I see it.
Need a striker that can hold the ball up as a priority. (given the current squad, if we can afford it, we should be looking for a physical player that is or could mature into a world class centre forward) Yak or no yak, but if he is hoping for a stupid pay rise then we shouldn't bother.
Prefer a player of less reputation who is hungry than a proven player with a reputation that is signing for money.
This is the path Newcastle used to go down and it rarely pays dividends to anyone but the player.
Vaughan could be the player we need. He's pure class and physical too, with an eye for goal. Just the injuries being a problem.
