Wembleyorbust.com is a newly launched initiative that captures the excitement and enthusiasm of a trip to Wembley and channels it to raise money for charity. Inspired by the well-known saying of football fans embarking on an F.A. Cup run, the initiative will raise essential funds for good causes. Any sports and music fans planning a trip to Wembley are challenged to come up with the the wackiest way to get there in order to secure sponsorship for their nominated charity.
The inaugural campaign centres on the 2009 FA Cup Final between Everton and Chelsea and sees a lifelong Everton fan trying to get to Wembley using only his over 60’s bus pass on local buses - no coaches, no trains, no cheating. The stakes could’nt be higher - his FA Cup final ticket if he doesn’t make it in time!!
His progress will be tracked live on this site and his thoughts captured via a live Twitter feed as he tries to get from Liverpool to London in less than 24 hours tarvel time by making more than twenty bus journies and we all know how reliable local buses are.
