WR Dean a century on (nearly)

Beto and Barry will honour him by reaching 60 career goals by 2128
The pair of them could not beat a keeper from a 12 yard pen very worrying Dean got £7 per week ....as Captain he was on the committee to select Everton sides too - no extra wages -
To think the club could only give him a testermonial game in the the 1970s - his job offer was a caretaker at Littlewoods by John Moores he had to sell his medals & England caps to survive he played at Silgo Rovers Southern Island in which our links to that club gave us Shamus Coleman ref
@Bluerover -
I have read two big autobiographical stories of Dixie Dean - an EFC God imo
Dr David Francis spent a fortune to get most of Dixie Deans Memorabilia back for display ....

My grandad and dad watched him play. Dad would never have it that there was anything like Dixie. The only 'modern' player he ever gave credit to was Bobby Collins.
l just missed Bobby Collins play as the first box to box scoring midfielder - he fans idolised him too - my grandad stated Dixie was the best no 9 ever his replacement Lawton was a one season wonder - war broke out - so that's hard to debate - Lawton it was stated he ran looking for money & that was is downfall - sadly becoming bankrupt even after a testermonial for him - that never touched the sides of his debts sadly ....

I genuinely do wonder if Everton had more success over the last 30 years, would fans care so much about a player who scored a lot of goals 100 years!! Ago
Of course, unless someone broke his record.
No one has been able to do better. Not Jimmy Greaves, not Gert Müller. Not Messi, not Ronaldo.
No one.

Different game to now, of course.
But no else did better back then either and records stand untill they are broken.
If not, let's take away clubs honours from before a certain date as well. Sometimes knowing your history is actually precisely that.
Dixie Dean is part of Everton dna and his record is undeniable!

Yeah but if Everton won a cup or a league recently, people might actually talk about something more relevant

2027-2028 season will mark a century since the greatest goalscorer of all time set his unmatched record.

I'd hope our overlords will see fit to make an enormous global deal of this thing, for the promotion, benefit and visibility of the club. If not ... down to us somehow.

He looked a monster of a man. God rest his soul.
