Would you swap Vic for Doyle?????

No I wouldn't.

Anichebe has had plenty of criticism in the past - and much of it deserved. But in 2012 he has been much improved, never going to be a world beater, but can do a job for us. Offers us more than Doyle could.

After I got home from last night's match with Leyton Orient I had a look through the match thread were I found plenty of criticism of Anichebe's performance - from people who had listened to the game on the radio! Trust me he had a decent game, and never stopped working.

Good post.

Also I really think we've moved beyond the Doyle type of forward. All graft, no quality.

I hope Stracq is the last CF in that mould we see here for a while.

Too many people get downers on players to the extent that they can never recover from a bad spell. Vic is scoring and deserves some credit. His situation at Everton now seems to be rather similar to the way Gobson was treated at at United and he hasn't turned out bad. I would rather try and keep hold of a homegrown player than replace him with an older dubious model.

again well put

Anchibie is ok and stuff but you guys must have rocks in your head Doyle plays for a badly gash wolves team and I would take him in a heartbeat because he works so effing hard and strikes me as a better team player. But if chebie can change his attitude I would gladly eat my words

What's wrong with vic's attitude.
Worked hard last night, linked up very well and scored.
just don't get this vic's got a **** attitude nonsense

I believe in Vic. With decent mentoring he could be useful. I do feel a lot of his problems are psychological. Maybe I am still a teenager at heart, hoping that Rod Belfit or Bernie Wright will score hat-tricks against Liverpool. :D

Glad a few people are recognising Vic has done well last season and obviously last night...

He could score 5 hat tricks in a row and some people would still call him rubbish.

I've always liked Victor. I said he'd score 9 last season if he stayed healthy. He didn't stay healthy and he still scored 7. You can give me all of the games:goal statistics you want, but the reality is a lot of those games are late subs on the wing.

The much better criticisms are the sulking after goals last season and his knack for getting injured.

Regardless, I like him and think he feels a role as a squad player.

Well said, I think Doyle would be a surprise success for us
